Yes three dates set and two dashed due to the disruptive Covid 19 Pandemic. But at last Saturday 2nd October 2021 would be the new date for the wedding of our club member Tony Clark and Gillian Williams special day.
With just a week to go the threat of fuel shortage, high winds and a wet weather forecast was not going to delay this wedding any longer, no sire.
The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Church which sits at the top of Rayleigh High street. We are greeted at the steps by the groom himself, any signs of nerves are beautifully disguised under Tony's cheerful grin and confident persona.
We are seated amongst friends and family of the groom, with happy chatter soon replaced as hushes full over the congregation, the cue that the bride has arrived, we all stand.
Gill looking stunning in a full length embellished wedding gown, swishes her way down the Aisle to join Tony and the two best men's side, Connor and Kieran, Tony's sons.
The church bells ring at the end of the ceremony announcing the union of Mr & Mrs Clark, the celebrations would continue in The Old Parish Rooms till the late evening. Champagne, canapé, laughter, speeches remembering loved ones and the brilliant double act from Tony's sons delivering the best mens speech was priceless, with only a few embarrassing taunts towards their dad, I think he would agree that he got off lightly.
The first dance followed by everyone up on the dance floor, dancing that continued through the night.…. tied toes and sore heads the perfect end to a beautiful, and loving wedding.
Tony & Gill, you threw one heck of a wedding! Best wishes for a fun filled future together XX.
